Family Christmas Lighting Case Study
Project Overview
This McMurray project was designed to create a magical Christmas experience for a family who had recently moved back to the Pittsburgh area. The homeowner wanted to go all out for her three-year-old daughter, whose favorite holiday is Christmas.
The design featured warm white C-9 bulbs along the roofline, driveway, and walkway, with lit garland framing the front door and a lit wreath above the garage for a classic holiday look.
We also wrapped trees and bushes with warm white 5mm mini lights to add depth and sparkle throughout the front of the property. The finished display was built to feel bright, welcoming, and special for the whole family.
Design Direction
The goal was to create a magical Christmas experience for the homeowner's young daughter while giving the entire property a warm, classic holiday look. We used multiple layers of lighting and décor to create depth, warmth, and plenty of curb appeal.
We used several key elements throughout the display:

Installation Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was power management. With multiple lighting elements throughout the property, careful planning was required to avoid overloading circuits while ensuring every section operated reliably.
We also concealed as much wiring as possible using lamp wire and strategic routing techniques to keep the focus on the lighting effects rather than the infrastructure. Along the driveway and walkway, fixtures and wiring were positioned carefully to prevent damage from foot traffic and vehicles.
The Result
The completed display delivered exactly what the family was hoping for: a memorable Christmas experience centered around their daughter's favorite holiday. Warm white lighting, illuminated greenery, and sparkling trees combined to create a festive atmosphere throughout the property.
Using premium warm white C-9 bulbs, 5mm mini lights, lit garland, and wreaths, the finished display transformed the home into a holiday showpiece that the entire family could enjoy throughout the season.
