Permanent Outdoor Lighting Case Study
Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
This project reflects how permanent color-changing lighting is meant to be used. Most nights, the home runs in a clean, warm white that highlights its architectural lines. When holidays or special events come up, the system shifts to full color instantly.
The homeowner wanted to stop paying for seasonal Christmas light installation every year and invest in something permanent that looked refined year-round.
As a Certified OMNI RGB Installer, we designed and installed a system using white single tracks so the hardware blends into the trim and remains barely visible during the day.
Design & System Layout
This home was set up with two independent controllers:
-
- One controller for the first story
- One controller for the second story
Separating the levels gives the homeowner full flexibility. Both stories can run warm white for a classic architectural look, or each level can display different colors when desired.
This zoning approach allows the lighting to enhance the home without ever feeling overdone.
Installation Challenges
The biggest priority was concealment. The homeowner did not want to see any exposed wiring.
We carefully routed and secured all wiring through hidden pathways, aligned the tracks precisely along architectural lines, and ensured clean transitions at corners and rooflines. The result is a system that looks intentional and integrated, not added on.
Why This Matters
Permanent lighting should elevate the home every night, not just during the holidays. With OMNI RGB, this homeowner now has:
-
- Warm white architectural lighting year-round
- Full color customization on demand
- Independent zone control
- A system installed for long-term durability
This Canonsburg project demonstrates what permanent outdoor lighting looks like when it is designed thoughtfully and installed with attention to detail.
