Highlighting a custom home with 350 feet of permanent roofline lighting

Permanent Roofline Lighting Installation In Southpointe

Project Overview

This project in Southpointe involved installing permanent roofline lighting around the front, left, and right sides of a new custom home in the Alto Piano neighborhood. The goal was to highlight the architecture of this Graziani Homes property while giving the homeowner a flexible lighting system they could use year-round.

The homeowner wanted clean architectural lighting for everyday use, along with the ability to change the lights for specific holidays and special occasions. With a home this detailed, the lighting needed to enhance the rooflines, peaks, and exterior design without making the system itself stand out during the day.

We installed 350 feet of permanent roofline lighting using black track Omni RGB. The installation followed the front and both sides of the home, covered six peaks, and required concealing more than 150 feet of wire so the finished result shows the effect of the lights, not the work behind them.

Design Direction

The design focused on enhancing the home's architectural features while keeping the lighting system virtually invisible during the day. Because this was a newly constructed custom home, the goal was to create clean roofline illumination that would accentuate the home's shape, peaks, and craftsmanship without drawing attention to the lighting components themselves.

We incorporated several key design elements throughout the project:

    • Permanent RGB roofline lighting for year-round architectural illumination
    • Custom zoning and controls for holidays, events, and seasonal displays
    • Precise fixture placement to highlight rooflines and architectural details
    • Carefully concealed wiring to maintain a clean daytime appearance
    • Black track installation designed to blend seamlessly with the home

Every section of the system was planned to complement the home's design while giving the homeowner complete flexibility to change colors, patterns, and lighting themes throughout the year.

Installation Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was maintaining a clean, finished appearance on a brand-new custom home. While installing the lighting itself is relatively straightforward, concealing the wiring and mounting components takes considerably more time and attention to detail.

The project included six separate roof peaks that required multiple elevation changes throughout the installation. In addition, more than 150 feet of wire had to be carefully routed and hidden to ensure the focus remained on the lighting effect rather than the infrastructure behind it.

Rather than taking shortcuts, extra time was invested in hiding wire runs and refining installation details so the completed system would look as though it had always been part of the home.

The Result

The finished system delivers elegant architectural lighting every night of the year while giving the homeowner the ability to celebrate holidays and special occasions with custom colors and lighting effects at the touch of a button.

Using premium Omni RGB lighting installed within a durable black track system, the home now stands out beautifully after dark without compromising its clean daytime appearance. The result is a permanent lighting solution that enhances the architecture, provides endless customization options, and serves as the perfect finishing touch for this stunning Graziani Homes property.
